Ukrainian food

Ukrainian food is the combination of the different culinary traditions of Ukrainian individuals accumulated over many centuries. It is famous all over the world for the unique taste of its dishes. The dishes are usually based on various meat, fish and vegetable combinations. The Ukrainian food is greatly influenced by the thick dark soil from where its ingredients originate and most often contains many ingredients.

As mentioned earlier, the traditional food of Ukrainian is rich in meat. It is also famous for its bread and butter. In the beginning, the bread was made with the wheat, but it has been replaced by rye and oats nowadays. Some of the breads used in the Ukrainian diet are: kitschy, banyan, sborovka, kupeshki, chrystritski and stokhatski. The butter is obtained from either cows or goats and used to cook various kinds of meats as well as vegetables.

Other than bread and butter, there are many other main ingredients used to prepare this dish. These include cabbage, beans, carrots, radishes, onion, garlic, leeks, mushrooms, asparagus and tomatoes. The rest of the ingredients are also important ingredients used in this dish.

The main meal in the evening is called as ‘tatz’ and it is an excellent breakfast dish. The meal is made up of potatoes, eggs and milk. Many people like to have a piece of this meal as a part of their daily diet.
